WooCommerce integrations: planning and implementation
A WooCommerce integration should remove specific manual work: copying orders, updating stock or passing sales data. We assess feasibility and cost using both systems’ documentation and the actual data flow.
One owner for each piece of information
We establish the source of prices, stock and order status. If two systems can overwrite the same value, conflict rules are needed. Product, order and customer identifiers ensure updates do not create additional copies.
Example: sending an order to an operational system
The flow must specify when to send: order creation, payment or manual approval. Address changes, cancellation and failed transmission need handling. Repeating the same message must not accidentally create a second warehouse task.
Scope agreed before work
- System names, versions and available documentation.
- Fields, exchange directions and update frequency.
- Synchronization start and completion conditions.
- Missing product and invalid data handling.
- Error history, retries and responsibility for responding.
We compare a ready-made extension with custom integration. Compatibility with any system cannot be claimed before its capabilities and access restrictions are checked.
Tests include failures
Alongside a valid order, we check rejected data, outages, repeated messages and unmatched products. The result should be visible in both systems. A “sent” message does not confirm correct order receipt.
Maintenance and costs
The quotation separates analysis, development, licences and maintenance. Interface or trading rule changes may require connection updates. At acceptance, we agree who monitors errors and which support scope covers them.
What can I send without sharing passwords?
System names, documentation links and an anonymized data example. Access is agreed for the relevant stage, with permissions matched to the work.
