Performance Max campaigns

Performance Max campaigns can support store sales across Google channels. Their effectiveness depends on the objective, purchase data, offer quality and advertising materials. At WebHeaven, we start with those elements and relate campaign planning to your store’s economics.

When Performance Max makes sense

Consider PMax when purchases work, product data is organized and sales can be assessed. If payment fails or advertised variants are unavailable, remove those barriers first. Automation will not repair an unclear offer or basket errors.

According to Google Ads documentation, Performance Max uses multiple Google advertising inventories within one campaign and optimizes towards selected goals. This does not guarantee use of every channel or a specific order count.

What we check before launch

  • Whether purchases record the correct value and currency.
  • Whether repeated events or micro-conversions inflate results.
  • Whether product data, prices and availability match the store.
  • Which product groups have stock, margin and sales potential.
  • Whether images, text and video match landing page products.
  • How the campaign will work with existing search advertising.

We record a baseline of spending, revenue, orders and measurement limitations. Later reporting can then go beyond comparing two arbitrary days.

Campaign management in practice

We prepare a structure suited to the assortment, asset groups, materials and goals. We then analyse results, offer changes and points where customers abandon purchasing. Agreed improvements may concern the campaign, product feed or store.

We do not divide budgets among many small campaigns without a reason. Separate product groups may make sense for different margins, seasonality or objectives, but structure should support decisions rather than merely look elaborate.

ROAS and actual profitability

ROAS compares attributed revenue with advertising cost. It does not automatically include goods, returns, delivery or handling costs. A high ratio need not mean profit.

Illustrative calculation: PLN 10,000 revenue with PLN 2,000 advertising spend gives a ROAS of 500%. If PLN 2,500 remains after goods and fulfilment costs, subtracting advertising leaves PLN 500 before other costs. This illustrates the calculation; it is not a WebHeaven campaign result.

Budget and cooperation scope

We separate the budget paid to Google from management fees. The proposal depends on the market, range, history and capacity to prepare materials. Photography, video production or store redesign are priced separately where needed.

Questions about Performance Max

Does PMax replace SEO?

No. A campaign buys advertising exposure; SEO develops organic visibility. Both can lead to the same categories, but have different costs and evaluation methods.

Must the entire store be rebuilt?

Not always. Tracking, product data and key purchase screens may need only limited changes. Diagnosis determines scope.

When can results be assessed?

After collecting data reflecting the buying cycle and conversion delays. We agree the first review before launch; one day is insufficient for lasting conclusions.

Send your store address and campaign objective. We will check preparation needed before launching or expanding Performance Max.

Product data and feed checks in PMax

For product campaigns, we compare representative source records with store pages. Title, variant, price, currency and availability should describe the same product. Check promotions, unavailable products and variants with different prices in particular.

Checklist before expanding the campaign

  • Product identifier and correct destination URL.
  • Image matching the advertised variant.
  • Price and stock updates after store changes.
  • Disapproval and missing-data messages.
  • Product groups matching company objectives and limitations.

Fix errors at the appropriate data source so they do not return during synchronization. An integration may overwrite a manual correction made elsewhere.

How should improvements be assessed?

Separate restored product accuracy from sales impact. Removing a disapproval allows further campaign assessment but does not itself prove improved profitability. A report should identify the repaired problem and the next observation period.
